Getting a separation agreement
Our separation agreement services are primarily for married couples who have decided to live separately and have come to a financial agreement.
This option contains everything necessary to lawfully protect both parties through the separation process for a fixed fee and therefore avoid a contested divorce.
What to expect
On receipt of the order we will send you a questionnaire to fill out and return to us. We will then contact you to discuss the content of the agreement and answer any questions you may have about the process.
We begin the process by discussing all financial assets owned by you and your spouse and by providing advice on negotiating how these assets can be divided between you.
Once the terms of the agreement are created, agreed and signed by both parties, it will be sent to The Registers of Scotland. The end result will be an approved and legally binding separation agreement.
The separation agreement may include periodic payments during the separation, division of assets and funds in joint bank accounts and administration of marital property. It can also cover who will start divorce proceeding and how the cost of this will be divided.
The costs involved
We offer separation agreement services at a fixed fee of £200. This service offers a great deal of financial saving as opposed to the usual solicitor charges and we provide essential advice in regards to the negotiation of assets and preparing a legally binding document.
In addition to our fee there is also a registration fee of £22 payable to the Registers of Scotland.
